MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641118557 A) filed by Vishnu Institute Of Technology on October 04, 2026, for Ai-Based Multi-Source Flash Flood Detection, Risk Prediction And Warning System.

Inventors include Mrs. S. Annapurna; Mr O. V. Subrahmanyam; M. Sreedevi; A. Jahnawi; A. Mohan Chandra; B. Lakshmi Narayana Reddy; and K. Koushitha.

The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.

Abstract: The present invention provides an AI-based multi-source system for flash-flood detection, risk prediction, mapping, and early warning in hilly and mountainous regions. The system acquires rainfall, weather, river, terrain, satellite, population, and infrastructure data, and preprocesses the data through cleaning, synchronization, spatial alignment, and normalization. Extracted environmental and geographical features are processed by machine-learning and time-series models to estimate flood probability and future risk. Satellite imagery is additionally analyzed to detect actual flooded areas. The resulting outputs are fused to classify flood risk, visualize affected regions, assess population and infrastructure exposure, and automatically generate localized early-warning notifications and evacuation-support information.
