Abstract: The present invention relates to an Al-based integrated smart surveillance system for urban safety and traffic management. The system is designed to detect road accidents, criminal activities, and women distress situations in real time using computer vision and deep learning techniques. It processes live video feeds from surveillance sources including CCTV cameras, traffic cameras, and IP cameras. A YOLO-based object detection model is employed to identify vehicles, pedestrians, and suspicious activities. Accident detection is performed through analysis of vehicle motion, collision patterns, and abnormal traffic behavior. Crime detection is achieved using action recognition models to identify activities such as theft, violence, and loitering. The system also incorporates gesture and behavior recognition to detect distress signals related to women safety. Integrated with loT and cloud infrastructure, the system generates instant alerts with location data to authorities, enabling rapid response and improved public safety.
