The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an AI-based driver monitoring system and method for real-time detection of driver drowsiness, stress, and fatigue. The system comprises an infrared (IR) camera for monitoring facial parameters including eye aspect ratio, eye closure, yawning, and head movement, and physiological sensors comprising a photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor, galvanic skin response (GSR) sensor, body temperature sensor, and inertial measurement unit (IMU) for acquiring physiological data. A processing unit preprocesses the acquired data through filtering, normalization, and synchronization, followed by feature extraction and multi- modal sensor fusion using an artificial intelligence engine. The system further communicates driver status to a mobile application through a wireless communication module for real-time monitoring, historical data logging, and remote notification, thereby enhancing driving safety and reducing fatigue-related accidents.
