MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511019493 A) filed by Amity University on March 04, 2025, for Ai-Based Device For Measuring Protein Content In Food.
Inventors include Tanya Gupta; Deepshikha Bhargava; Ajay Rana; and Neha Tyagi.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses an AI-based device for measuring protein content in food, comprising a Main Housing Unit (1), an Input Module (2), a Smart Weight Sensor Array (4), an Optical Spectral Sensor (5), a Thermal Sensor Module (6), a Moisture Detection Sensor (7), an Embedded Microcontroller or Edge AI Processor (3), a Nutrition Database Storage Unit (8), an AI Computation Engine (9), a Personalized Recommendation Engine (10), and a Wireless Communication Module (11). The device acquires multi-sensor data including weight, spectral response, temperature, and moisture parameters, preprocesses the signals, performs feature extraction, and executes trained machine learning models to estimate protein content in real time. Cooking-method-based correction factors stored in the Nutrition Database Storage Unit (8) are applied to improve accuracy. The integrated hardware-software architecture enables non-destructive, rapid, and portable protein estimation, providing a technical effect of improved measurement accuracy and reduced latency compared to conventional chemical analysis methods.
