MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641106159 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences on September 03, 2026, for Ai-Based Brain Tumor Recurrence Prediction System Using Longitudinal Mri And Clinical Data.

Inventors include Alphonsa J; Dr. V. Sheeja Kumari; and Dr Ramya Mohan.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The invention relates to an AI-based medical prediction system designed to estimate the likelihood of brain tumor recurrence using longitudinal MRI sequences and patient-specific clinical data. The system automatically acquires and preprocesses multi-timepoint MRI scans, performs tumor segmentation and volumetric change tracking, and extracts temporal progression features across imaging sessions. Clinical variables, including treatment history, radiation dosage, chemotherapy - cycles, genetic markers, and follow-up neurological assessments, are integrated using a hybrid deep-learning architecture combining convolutional neural networks, transformers, and temporal fusion models. A dedicated recurrence prediction engine generates a Recurrence Risk Score (RRS), presented on a normalized scale, indicating the probability of tumor reappearance within a defined follow-up period. Visualization modules provide temporal heatmaps showing morphological evolution and highlight clinically relevant changes. The system supports clinicians in proactive treatment planning, early intervention, and long-term surveillance for patients with glioma, meningioma, pituitary tumors, and other intracranial neoplasms.
