MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641112142 A) filed by Pragati Engineering College on September 18, 2026, for Ai-Based Blockchain-Cloud System For End-Of-Life Battery Waste Traceability, Material Recovery And Circular Economy Management.

Inventors include Dr. Y Jayababu; Mr. Chembrolu Satish; Ms. Rubia Tasneem; and Mr. Sayantan Kar.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: FIG. 1 illustrates the overall architecture of an AI-Based Blockchain-Cloud System for End-of-Life Battery Waste Traceability, Material Recovery and Circular Economy Management. The system comprises an End-of-Life Battery Input Unit (101), Battery Identification and Data Collection Unit (102), AI-Based Analysis Unit (103), Cloud Platform (104), Blockchain Traceability Unit (105), Material Recovery Unit (106), and Circular Economy Unit (107). The Battery Input Unit (101) receives end-of-life batteries. The Data Collection Unit (102) collects battery type, condition, location, and processing information. The AI Analysis Unit (103) classifies the battery waste and predicts recoverable materials and suitable recovery methods. The Cloud Platform (104) stores and processes battery lifecycle and recovery data, while the Blockchain Unit (105) securely records collection, transportation, recycling, and material-transfer transactions. The Material Recovery Unit (106) manages recovered materials, and the Circular Economy Unit (107) supports their reuse or remanufacturing. Thus, the system provides secure traceability, intelligent material recovery, lifecycle monitoring, and circular-economy management of end-of-life battery waste.
