MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641105978 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences on September 03, 2026, for Ai Based Automomous Soccer Robot.
Inventors include K Abitha Reddy; D Meghana; Dr. R. Karthik Raja; and Dr Ramya Mohan.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: This project addresses the limitation of manual control and restricted autonomy in traditional soccer robots by developing an AI-based autonomous soccer robot. The objective is to design a system that can independently detect a soccer ball and score a goal without human intervention. The robot is built using a Raspberry Pi as the central controller and a Pi Camera for real-time visual input, with computer vision techniques implemented using Open-CV for ball detection and tracking. The captured video frames are continuously processed to determine the ball's position, and intelligent control logic guides the robot's movement, alignment, and navigation toward the goal. This system improves understanding of artificial intelligence, robotics, and real-time image processing and can be applied in educational projects, robot- soccer competitions, and autonomous navigation research.
