Abstract: AI-Assisted IoT Framework for Smart City Traffic Management ABSTRACT An AI-assisted IoT framework for smart city traffic management is disclosed. The framework comprises distributed IoT sensor nodes for capturing real-time traffic data, edge computing nodes for local data pre-processing and low-latency inference, an AI-based prediction and decision engine for forecasting traffic congestion and generating adaptive control instructions, and an actuation layer for dynamically adjusting traffic signal timing, lane allocation, and routing recommendations. The system further supports Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communication and emergency vehicle green-corridor prioritization, enabling real-time, network-level optimization of urban traffic flow with reduced latency and improved responsiveness compared to conventional static traffic control systems.
