MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641106021 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences on September 03, 2026, for Ai-Assisted Framework For Multi-Class Classification Of Brain Tumor subtypes And Surrounding Tissue Health Status.

Inventors include Dr. V. Sheeja Kumari; and Dr Ramya Mohan.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an artificial intelligence-assisted framework for multi-class classification of brain tumor subtypes and assessment of surrounding tissue health status using medical imaging data. The framework utilizes advanced image preprocessing, feature extraction, and deep learning-based classification algorithms to automatically analyze magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain scans. The system detects and categorizes tumor subtypes such as glioma, meningioma, and pituitary tumors while simultaneously evaluating the health condition of surrounding brain tissues including edema and normal tissues. The framework integrates convolutional neural networks with hybrid machine learning models to improve classification accuracy and robustness. The proposed system further performs automated segmentation and generates visual diagnostic outputs that assist clinicians in early detection, tumor characterization, and treatment planning. The invention significantly enhances diagnostic efficiency, reduces human error, and supports clinical decision-making in neuro-oncology.
