MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611099298 A) filed by Noida International University on August 17, 2026, for Ai-Assisted Colorimetric Paper Strip For Glucose Detection.
Inventors include Abhilasha Singh; Gunjan Nautiyal; Sapna Joshi; Nidhi Srivastava; and Sameer Rastogi.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to paper-based glucose detection using artificial-intelligence-assisted image analysis. A colorimetric paper strip comprises a cellulose substrate carrying a chemical or enzymatic glucose-reactive reagent and a natural or synthetic colorimetric indicator. Blood, saliva, or urine applied to the strip produces a colour variation responsive to glucose concentration. A smartphone camera captures an image of the reacted strip. An artificial-intelligence-based image analysis module extracts RGB or HSV values and processes the values using a regression or machine-learning prediction model. The resulting glucose concentration is displayed through a mobile device. The system is applicable to point-of-care testing, diagnostic laboratories, hospitals, clinics, home-health monitoring, and portable analytical systems.
