Abstract: Campus placement preparation across Tamil Nadu engineering colleges continues to rely largely on static, generic coding question banks that do not adapt to an individual student's actual proficiency across core data structures and algorithms topics. This disclosure describes CodeNXT, an AI-driven interview preparation platform that estimates a candidate's ability separately for each topic, namely arrays, strings, trees, dynamic programming, and graphs, using a per-topic Elo-style rating that updates after every attempt. Questions are drawn from a bank weighted by company-wise historical asking frequency, and the next question presented to the candidate is selected to match their current estimated ability in that topic, keeping practice neither too easy nor too discouraging. Incorrect or partial responses are paired with Al-generated explanations that target the specific concept the candidate is weak in. Over successive sessions the system produces a topic-wise readiness report and a personalised revision roadmap. The approach reduces reliance on one-size-fits-all question sets, gives measurable and continuously updated visibility into a candidate's placement readiness, and is intended for deployment as a web-based service usable by individual students as well as college training and placement cells.
