Abstract: The proposed invention, AI-Powered Lost and Found Management System, is a smart web-based platform designed to simplify the reporting, tracking, management, and recovery of lost belongings in passenger-oriented environments such as airports, railway stations, bus terminals, educational institutions, and public facilities. The system enables users to report lost or found items by entering details such as item name, category, description, location, and date through a user-friendly digital interface. For every report submitted, the system automatically generates a unique Ticket ID that allows users and administrators to identify, track, and manage each case efficiently. The invention incorporates real-time status tracking, enabling users to monitor the progress of their reports, including submission, verification, matching, and recovery stages. A community-based Found Items Board is also provided to display found-item reports in a structured manner, thereby increasing the chances of successful item recovery. The system further integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI) to analyze item descriptions and associated attributes, identify possible matches between lost and found reports, and improve search efficiency through intelligent filtering and recommendation techniques. Additional features include email notifications for report updates and potential matches, secure admin management for verifying and processing claims, and QR-code- based reporting for faster registration and retrieval of item information. A lightweight database architecture makes the system suitable for deployment even in resource-constrained environments. Overall, the invention improves transparency, reduces manual effort and passenger stress, and provides a cost-effective, secure, and efficient solution for modern lost-and-found management.
