Abstract: The present invention discloses an autonomous UAV-based precision agriculture system that integrates deep learning-driven aerial image analysis with a selectively actuated chemical spraying mechanism. The system acquires high-resolution aerial images of agricultural fields using a nadir-facing camera mounted on a multi-rotor UAV. Acquired images undergo preprocessing comprising resizing, noise filtering, contrast normalisation, and colour normalisation, followed by inference through a trained Convolutional Neural Network that detects and spatially localises disease-affected crop regions. A decision logic controller transforms detection outputs into geographic coordinates and computes targeted nozzle actuation commands. The precision spraying mechanism activates exclusively over detected disease zones, eliminating indiscriminate blanket application. The invention achieves a demonstrated reduction of approximately 40 percent in chemical usage relative to conventional uniform spraying, while improving crop coverage accuracy and reducing environmental contamination.
