Inventors include Dr. P. Ganeshan; Mr. M. Tamilselvan; Mr. S. Samraj; and Mr. M. Muthusamy.
The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an Agentic AI-Based Autonomous Solar Farm Operation and Decision Support System for intelligent monitoring, predictive maintenance, energy optimization, and autonomous operation of solar photovoltaic power plants. The system comprises a plurality of Internet of Things (IoT) sensors configured to acquire real-time operational, environmental, and equipment health data from photovoltaic modules, inverters, battery energy storage systems, weather stations, smart energy meters, surveillance devices, drones, and robotic cleaning units. The acquired data are processed through an edge computing unit and transmitted to an Agent Coordination Engine (ACE) that coordinates a plurality of autonomous artificial intelligence agents, including Solar Generation Forecasting, Weather Intelligence, PV Performance Monitoring, Predictive Maintenance, Battery Energy Management, Energy Dispatch Optimization, Drone Inspection, Robotic Cleaning, Security Surveillance, and Human Decision Support agents. The system further comprises a Digital Twin module configured to simulate solar farm operations and validate operational strategies, an Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) module configured to generate interpretable recommendations with confidence scores and decision justifications, and an Adaptive Learning Engine configured to continuously improve prediction and optimization models using historical operational data and operator feedback. A Human–AI Decision Support Interface enables operators to review, approve, modify, or reject system recommendations before execution. Approved decisions are implemented through an intelligent control layer for inverter control, battery management, robotic cleaning, drone deployment, and load management. The proposed invention enables coordinated multi-agent decision-making, improves photovoltaic energy generation, enhances equipment reliability, reduces operational downtime and maintenance costs, optimizes battery utilization, and provides a scalable, transparent, and autonomous management solution for utility-scale solar photovoltaic power plants.
