The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.

Abstract: This project focuses on the design and fabrication of an affordable, compact home lift; an innovative vertical transportation tool aimed at increasing accessibility in smaller residential and commercial buildings. The affordable home lift is designed to raise and lower a wheel-guided carrier platform along vertical guide rails using a motor-driven wire rope and roller mechanism. This reduces the high cost, space requirement and installation complexity of conventional elevators while ensuring safe and reliable operation. The report details the conceptualization, design calculations, material selection, fabrication processes, working mechanism and testing of the lift are briefly described in this report. Conventional elevator systems are expensive and space-intensive, which limits their use in smaller structures. The affordable home lift addresses these challenges by incorporating a compact, motor-driven hoist mechanism. Providing vertical mobility in smaller buildings often requires costly hydraulic or traction elevators with dedicated machine rooms. This not only increases cost but also limits feasibility in space-constrained homes. The affordable home lift integrates a hoist motor, wire rope and guide-rail system that delivers safe vertical movement directly through a compact carrier.
