Abstract: This invention discloses a footwear-integrated, 360-degree hazard-detection apparatus, in the form of a smart combat boot, capable of detecting both metallic and non- metallic buried mines and unexploded ordnance within a defined radius around the wearer. The apparatus combines electromagnetic-induction and ground-penetrating- radar sensing, together with an inertial measurement unit for gait-timed activation and fall detection, with an onboard artificial-intelligence based control system that distinguishes genuine threats from environmental clutter. Upon detecting a probable threat, the apparatus provides a directional, non-visual haptic alert to the wearer and simultaneously transmits geo-tagged hazard coordinates over a long-range wireless mesh network to nearby personnel and a command base. The apparatus is partly self-powered through piezoelectric elements embedded in the heel that harvest energy from walking and additionally serve an acoustic-vibration sensing function, incorporates a galvanic isolation circuit for wearer safety, a mechanical blast-attenuating kinetic-energy dissipation layer in the sole for passive protection, a status LED array and wired external data port, and includes biometric sensors for monitoring wearer health, all housed in a ruggedized, waterproof enclosure. Compared to existing handheld or vehicle-mounted detection equipment, the invention provides hands-free, continuous, networked, and self-powered subsurface-threat detection with added passive protective and diagnostic features, suitable for military, humanitarian, and disaster-response applications
