The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: These days, various intelligent gadgets exist to help physically challenged individuals to move around. Unfortunately, the existing technologies have certain flaws, such as complex handling, expensive cost, and the use of joysticks that are difficult to control. The innovation being suggested here is a smart wheelchair, which can be controlled independently, thought hands via hand gestures and jaw motions. The gadget utilizes gyroscope sensor technology to detect hand motions, while hall effect sensors along with a Jaw movement. The innovation detects jaw and gesture motions for controlling the movement of the wheelchair independently. The connected sensors are processed by an Arduino Uno microcontroller, which in turn sends commands through a control algorithm coded in the C++ programming language. By this the wheelchair motors get powered by this instruction with the help of L298N motor driver. The whole system operates under the power supply from a 12V rechargeable battery. Thus this invention helps the people who have physical limitations, where the proposed intelligent wheel chair is an efficient, inexpensive and easy to operate solution.
