Abstract: The pest infestation is a major problem that is causing a decline in the quality and production of crops in the agricultural sector across the globe. This paper describes an Advanced Pest Monitoring and Response System which is the integration of image processing and embedded controls to provide real time crop protection. The system takes field pictures as well as analyses them with the MATLAB program to identify when there are pests using the visual-angular patterns. The analyzed output is sent to an arduino-based controller that initiates appropriate response activities like ultrasonic repulsions, light avoidance or environmentally-friendly spraying, depending on the severity of the pest. The system suggested lets the continuous monitoring work automatically and with minimum human participation. The experiment reveals a high level of accurate pest detection earlier and less dependency on chemical pesticides. This helps to make the farming sustainable, reduces the amount of labor and improves crop production. The system offers an intelligent, economical solution to the contemporary precision agriculture and smart farming application.
