Abstract: ADVANCED LANE-SWITCHING MECHANISM FOR EFFICIENT AND SAFE HYPERLOOP TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS The present disclosure provides a hyperloop transportation system configured to facilitate lane-switching operations. The system includes a guideway 100 diverging into a first travel path 402 and a second travel path 404 through a lane switching section406. Each guideway 100 includes a pair of C-shaped tracks 102 and a T-shaped track 104 configured to facilitate levitation, lateral guidance, and propulsion of a vehicle. The lane switching section 406 is devoid of the T-shaped track 104, and portions of the C-shaped tracks are selectively removed to define a clearance region configured to facilitate unobstructed traversal of the vehicle during switching. The system further includes a LEMS system, an EMS system, and a wheel-assisted switching mechanism configured to facilitate stable transition of the vehicle between travel paths. Pre-accelerated wheels and lateral electromagnetic guidance are configured to improve switching stability and reduce transition-induced jerk during high-speed operation within a low-pressure transport tube.
