MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641078273 A) filed by Easwari Engineering College; and Srm Institute Of Science And Technology, Ramapuram Campus on June 25, 2026, for Advanced Inductive Power Transfer Method For Continuous Charging Of Electric Vehicles.

Inventors include Suresh V; Manivannan S; and Sahitya Sastry.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: A wireless power transfer system for electric vehicles is disclosed, enabling both static and dynamic charging through inductive coupling. The system comprises a ground-side power conditioning unit, a high-frequency inverter, transmitting inductive coils embedded beneath a roadway, receiving coils mounted on a vehicle, and a rectification and battery charging module. Electrical power is converted into high-frequency alternating current and transferred wirelessly through magnetically coupled coils to charge vehicle batteries without physical electrical contact. The system supports charging while the vehicle is stationary or in motion, thereby extending driving range and reducing dependence on conventional charging stations. Optimized coil design, operating frequency selection, and mutual inductance management improve power transfer efficiency, reduce charging time, and enhance reliability. The invention minimizes electrical hazards such as sparks, short circuits, and electric shock while providing an efficient, safe, and scalable charging infrastructure for future electric transportation networks. The technology is suitable for roadway-integrated charging systems and renewable-energy-based electric vehicle ecosystems.
