MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611099413 A) filed by Noida International University on August 17, 2026, for Advanced Endotracheal Tube Holder With Self-Calibrating Displacement Monitoring And Real-Time Alert System.
Inventor includes Nilakshi Gogoi.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention provides an intelligent endotracheal tube holder having a self-calibrating multi-modal displacement monitoring system for increasing the safety of the airway for mechanically ventilated patients. The assembly is equipped with displacement, strap tension and motion sensors and a microcontroller that sets an "unstressed" tube position following fixation. It monitors for displacement, movement or loosening at all times. When the thresholds for safety are exceeded on significant movement the system provides real-time alerts – visual, audible, vibrating and wireless – that will alert healthcare professionals to take immediate corrective action. The device may be able to distinguish between the magnitude of the event of displacement, to store the monitoring data, and to be calibrated after displacement. This invention also provides a secure fixation system that features smart monitoring and early warning to improve patient safety and minimize airway complications during critical care
