Abstract: The invention relates to a method for drying a compressed gas, in particular compressed air, using an adsorption dryer which has at least one pressure vessel with an adsorption material for adsorbing moisture from the compressed gas, wherein, in drying operation for drying the compressed gas, the compressed gas flows through the pressure vessel along the adsorption material from a drying inlet, through a drying section, to a drying outlet and exits as dried compressed gas; in regeneration operation for regenerating the adsorption material, a regeneration gas flows through the pressure vessel along the adsorption medium from the drying outlet, through the drying section, to the drying inlet and in the process draws moisture from the adsorption material; and in regeneration operation, partial heating takes place in a heating region in the pressure chamber, wherein the heating region is arranged only in a subregion of the pressure vessel, adjacent to the drying inlet.
