MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641106084 A) filed by Dr. Sam Ebenezer R; Dr. Vignesh Sounderrajan; and Dr. Krupakar Parthasarathy on September 03, 2026, for Adjuvanted Ppe’s Multi-Epitope Peptide Vaccine Against Tuberculosis.
Inventors include Dr. Sam Ebenezer R; Dr. Vignesh Sounderrajan; and Dr. Krupakar Parthasarathy.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an adjuvanted multi-epitope peptide vaccine against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The vaccine construct comprises immunodominant B-cell, MHC class I cytotoxic T-lymphocyte and MHC class II helper T-lymphocyte epitopes derived from multiple PE/PPE family proteins including PPE18, PPE25, PPE26, PPE42, PPE68, PE-PGRS59, PE35, PE11 and PE2. The selected epitopes are assembled into a single chimeric peptide construct using peptide linkers including GPGPG, AAY, KK and EAAAK, together with immunostimulatory adjuvant sequences and a universal helper T-cell epitope. The construct is evaluated computationally for antigenicity, immunogenicity, allergenicity, toxicity, physicochemical characteristics, structural stability, molecular docking and HLA population coverage. Molecular docking is performed against TLR4, TLR6, MHC class I and MHC class II molecules. The disclosed construct is intended for synthesis, pharmaceutical formulation and subsequent experimental evaluation for prophylactic vaccination against tuberculosis. The construct may be provided as a synthetic peptide or through recombinant expression and formulated with pharmaceutically acceptable carriers.
