Abstract: A method for adjusting illumination in an environment for optimal performance of a robot. The method includes initiating mapping of the environment, based on user input via the robot. The method also includes obtaining real-time image data and real-time network data associated with lighting devices in the environment during the mapping and localizing the lighting devices in the map of the environment based on the obtained real-time image data and real-time network data. The method further includes determining lux variation in the environment based on real-time images of the environment, identifying the lighting devices with luminance deviating from an optimal value, based on the determined lux variation and the map of the environment and controlling the identified lighting devices with luminance deviating from optimal value based on the determined lux variation, to adjust the illumination in the environment for enabling optimal performance of the robot.
