MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511015633 A) filed by Sanskriti University on February 22, 2025, for Adjustable Skin Injury Protection Assistive Device.

Inventors include Dr. Princy Purwar; and Dr. Aneesh John.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: An adjustable skin injury protection assistive device, comprising a ring-shaped body 101 positioned by a user around an injured area of the user's skin, an ultrasonic sensor for determining the dimensions of the injury, a drawer arrangement allowing to accommodate various sizes and shapes of injuries, a pair of plates 102 connected by a motorized hinge joint 103, to move the plates 102 a converging or diverging motion, multiple suction cups 104 to adhere to the user's skin and secure the device around the injured area, a breathable waterproof sheet providing a protective barrier around the injured area, a moisture sensor continuously monitors the presence of any water droplets around the injury, a pressure sensor monitors the pressure exerted by the tube 105 on the user's skin and an optical sensor to monitor the injured area for signs of infection.
