MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511018815 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology Deemed To-Be University; and Shobhit University, Gangoh on March 03, 2025, for Adjustable Cap For Writing Utensils.

Abstract: An adjustable cap for writing utensils comprising, a frame 1 having a U-shaped member 2 associated with the cap and developed to accommodate a writing utensil within the member 2, an ultrasonic sensor to detect dimensions of the writable utensil, a motorized drawer arrangement to extend/ retract for adjusting dimensions of the member 2 for properly gripping the writing utensil, multiple suction cups 3 to provide additional grip to the writing utensil and secure the writing utensil within the member 2, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 to detect tip of the writing utensil, and a microphone 7 for receiving voice commands of the user regarding removal of cap from the writing utensil.
