Abstract: The present invention relates to an adhesive-free repair patch for repairing damaged flexible substrates including natural leather, synthetic leather, polyurethane (PU), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), vinyl materials, and coated fabrics. The repair patch comprises a barbed nanofiber surface layer having elastomeric nanofibers provided with microscopic barbs, a topological crease structure configured to assume a mechanically stable configuration under compression, a reinforcement mesh layer, and a removable release backing layer. During application, the microscopic barbs mechanically engage fibers and surface irregularities of a damaged substrate, while the topological crease structure distributes stresses and resists peeling. The reinforcement mesh layer enhances load distribution and structural integrity. The cooperative interaction of these components provides durable attachment through mechanical interlocking without the use of adhesives, heat activation, stitching, welding, or mechanical fasteners. The repair patch is removable with minimal substrate damage and is suitable for repairing a variety of flexible substrate materials under repeated flexing and environmental exposure.
