MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611083472 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on July 07, 2026, for Adaptive Wearable Patch System.
Inventor includes Harshita Kushwah.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: An Adaptive Wearable Patch System (100) for dynamic pain management and personalized analgesic dose titration is disclosed. The system integrates a multi-modal physiological sensor array (102) (GSR, PPG, Temperature) with an embedded Edge-AI Processing Unit (104) on a flexible, biocompatible patch. The Edge-AI unit executes a Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) neural network to fuse physiological biomarkers and generate a continuous, objective Pain Index (PI) in real-time, thereby eliminating the subjectivity and latency of traditional pain assessment. This PI serves as the feedback variable for a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller (108a), which dynamically modulates the current supplied to an iontophoretic drug delivery unit (106) containing an analgesic agent, such as Fentanyl. The system thereby establishes a closed-loop control mechanism that autonomously adjusts the drug dosage to match the patient's fluctuating pain levels.
