MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101525 A) filed by Chandigarh University on August 22, 2026, for Adaptive Ventilation Barrier With Selective Sunlight Attenuation And Environmental Response Mechanism.

Inventor includes Deven.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an adaptive ventilation barrier system, configured to provide ventilation, insect protection, sunlight attenuation, privacy, and environmental comfort through an integrated structure. The system comprises a structural frame, ventilation mesh, adaptive shading layer, environmental sensors, a control processing unit, and an actuation mechanism. The sensors monitor sunlight intensity, temperature, occupancy, and time-based conditions, enabling the controller to automatically regulate the shading layer according to detected environmental conditions. The shading mechanism selectively attenuates sunlight in affected regions while substantially preserving airflow through the mesh. The system may operate through active electronic control or passive environmentally responsive materials. It can reduce early-morning sunlight intrusion, solar heat gain, and glare while maintaining natural ventilation and privacy. The invention provides an energy-efficient, retrofit-compatible environmental management solution for doors, windows, balconies, and other ventilation openings.
