Abstract: ABSTRACT "INTERVENTION-AUTONOMOUS UNDERWATER VEHICLE SYSTEM WITH ADAPTIVE PERCEPTION-GUIDED MANIPULATION FOR AUTONOMOUS SUBSEA INSPECTION AND INTERVENTION" The present invention discloses an intervention-autonomous underwater vehicle (I-AUV) system and a corresponding method for autonomous subsea inspection and intervention. The system comprises a pressure-tolerant hull (100) carrying a six-degree-of-freedom propulsion and buoyancy subsystem (110), a multi-modal perception subsystem (200) combining optical cameras, echo sounders and imaging or synthetic-aperture sonars, a navigation-guidance-control subsystem (300) bidirectionally coupled to an adaptive optimisation engine (500), an acoustic-plus-optical communication subsystem (400), and a free-floating dual-manipulator subsystem (600). The optimisation engine (500) executes an iterative loop of initialisation (502), cost computation (504), profit evaluation (506), task update (508) and convergence check (510), integrating fuzzy demand estimates to produce a globally near-optimal mission plan, thereby enabling tether-free autonomous inspection, repair and maintenance in cluttered marine environments.
