The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: An adaptive smart helmet airbag system for cooperative motorcycle accident detection comprises front-mounted and main motorcycle motion sensors wired to a motorcycle controller. The motorcycle controller evaluates both sensor inputs and transmits suspected-accident information through a paired Bluetooth Low Energy link to a helmet controller. The helmet controller evaluates the received information together with helmet inertial measurements and a helmet-wear state determined through capacitive head-presence sensing and Hall-effect chin-strap sensing. When predefined deployment conditions are satisfied, an electrical trigger activates an inflator connected to a single-chamber airbag stored in an external lower-rear helmet housing outside the impactabsorbing liner. The airbag expands toward neck-adjacent, shoulder and upper-back regions, with a rear portion extending toward the middle ribcage. The system additionally provides helmetbattery and connection-status display, helmet replacement pairing, and automatic reconnection.
