MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101511 A) filed by Chandigarh University on August 22, 2026, for Adaptive Passive Multi-Axis Load Balancing Backpack With Self-Tuning Suspension And Hydrostatic Load Sharing.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an adaptive passive multi-axis load balancing backpack configured to redistribute carried load without sensors, motors, or batteries. The backpack comprises a load cradle mounted on rollers along a concave arc rail fixed to a rigid back frame, enabling gravity-driven repositioning of the load to maintain the combined centre of mass of the wearer and backpack over the base of support during walking, turning, climbing, or leaning. A rotary silicone-shear damper selectively attenuates step-frequency oscillations while permitting gradual postural adjustments, thereby minimizing load sloshing. Vertical load isolation is achieved using a rolling-diaphragm air spring that automatically increases stiffness with increasing load, maintaining an optimal suspension response over varying load conditions. A hydrostatic load-sharing system including interconnected fluid-filled bladders equalises pressure between shoulder straps and the hip belt, providing stable load distribution, improved wearer comfort, enhanced balance, and reduced physical fatigue.
