Abstract: ABSTRACT TITLE: ADAPTIVE OPTICAL TRANSCEIVER WITH REGIME-SELECTIVE PERTURBATION COMPENSATION FIRMWARE FOR DUAL- POLARIZATION LINKS An adaptive optical transceiver system (100) for dual-polarization coherent fiber-optic communication comprising a perturbation-based regime classifier engine (140) that computes dimensionless parameters representing accumulated nonlinear phase rotation and accumulated chromatic dispersion, classifying the operating regime into a nonlinearity-dominated regime and a dispersion-dominated regime. An adaptive compensation firmware module (150) contains a dispersion-domain perturbation compensator (152) and a nonlinearity-domain perturbation compensator (154) implementing closed-form first-order perturbation expansions for the Manakov equation. A compensation selector and combiner (156) activates the optimal compensator. A performance monitoring and feedback module (170) provides closed-loop dynamic regime reclassification. The system achieves computationally efficient impairment compensation across varying link conditions. [Figure 1]
