Abstract: Abstract Adaptive non-invasive electrical load monitoring system An adaptive non-invasive electrical load monitoring system is disclosed. A current-transformer sensor generates a waveform representative of alternating current flowing through a conductor, which is conditioned, digitized and acquired over a defined sampling window. A processing unit dynamically determines a baseline and noise state, corrects acquired waveform samples, and establishes a noise-responsive discrimination criterion. The corrected samples are evaluated to distinguish a valid load-current state from a no-load or noise-induced state. Upon identification of a valid load-current state, calibrated RMS current is determined from the corrected samples. Noise-induced non-zero measurements are suppressed when a no-load state is identified. Electrical- load information comprising the calibrated RMS current and load state is generated and provided to local and remote monitoring interfaces. The adaptive processing improves reliability of non-invasive electrical monitoring under varying baseline, noise, no-load and low-current conditions.
