MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641009986 A) filed by Smart Grid Analytics Pvt. Ltd. on January 30, 2026, for Adaptive Multi-Market Electricity Price Forecasting System Using Regime-Aware Ensemble Machine Learning.

Inventors include Tirumaleswara Reddy K; and Kumaraswamy M.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a computer-implemented system and method for regime-aware adaptive electricity price forecasting across multiple electricity market segments. Electricity market data from day-ahead, green day-ahead, and real-time markets is processed to generate an engineered feature set comprising temporal, lag- based, and volatility-related features. Recent market price behaviour is analysed to compute volatility measures, spike indicators, and a Market Stress Index, based on which the market is classified into stable, volatile, or high-stress regimes. Multiple heterogeneous forecasting models generate block-wise electricity price predictions, and an adaptive ensemble mechanism dynamically adjusts model contributions in accordance with the detected market regime. The dynamically weighted model outputs are aggregated to generate a final electricity price forecast with regime-related indicators. The invention enables adaptive and reliable electricity price forecasting under changing and volatile market conditions.
