Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an adaptive malware security triage system (100) and method (200). The system (100) converts heterogeneous files of distinct file formats into grayscale image representations to extract unified fixed-dimensional security vectors using a frozen convolutional neural network. A re- inference unit (106) generates a raw probability distribution score, which a calibration unit transforms into a calibrated probability estimate using isotonic regression mapping. An uncertainty quantification unit (110) computes a total uncertainty score based on a weighted combination of predictive uncertainty, a multi-order Rényi entropy divergence component, and a local feature variance component. A cost optimization unit (112) classifies files as malicious or benign against an optimal decision threshold optimized via asymmetric cost parameters. An adaptive routing unit (114) dynamically allocates the files to lightweight automated analysis, intermediate sandbox execution, or heavyweight manual forensic tiers based on predefined total uncertainty thresholds.
