MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641099992 A) filed by Peri Institute Of Technology on August 19, 2026, for Adaptive Lora - Iot Vehicle Speed And Direction Control System.

Inventors include Dr. Sreedevi S L; Priyadharshini P; Aileen Sonia Dhas P; Kanimozhi M; Pavithra S; and Reshma C.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to an automatic vehicle speed and direction control system that combines Long Range (LoRa) wireless communication, Internet of Things (IoT) and embedded motor-control technology to provide reliable. remote control of a robotic vehicle or electric vehicle. The proposed system consists of a transmitter unit and a receiver and control unit mounted in the vehicle. The transmitter unit produces PWM signals for movements, speed, direction, buzzer and the lighting, the receiver unit is implemented with ESP32 microcontroller and accepts the bottom commands and controls one or more motors via motor driver by using PWM. One of the inventive elements of the system is an adaptive speed-direction control mechanism which determines a safe motor-control output, based on selected speed mode, direction command, vehicle operating state and communication status. A direction-transition interlock allows no instant reversal between opposite directions, and provides a controlled stop/braking period before switching the motor direction. The system also includes bidirectional LoRa communication, which sends the vehicle status and command acknowledgements and communication-health data to the transmitter. If there is a loss of communication, invalid command or abnormal control conditions are set, the vehicle automatically enters an established safe state in case of loss of communication, invalid commands and abnormal control conditions. A web interface, which runs on the ESP32, also allows remote monitoring and manual control via a wireless device. The proposed system enables remote vehicles, surveillance robots, industrial automation and smart transportation systems to operate safely, with long-range communication links, responsive navigation and adaptive speed control, and to be scalable to accommodate the growing number and variety of IoT devices.
