MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621063719 A) filed by Mr. Prabhakar Saxena; and Dr. Mrs. Gayatri M. Phade on May 20, 2026, for Adaptive Hello Packet Communication System And Method In Uav-Ugv Networks..

Inventors include Mr. Prabhakar Saxena; and Dr. Mrs. Gayatri M. Phade.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: The invention discloses an AI-enabled UAV-UGV communication node with an adaptive halo packet interval mechanism for reliable bidirectional communication between an integrated unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) network. The system includes UAV and UGV nodes, wireless communication modules, GPS modules, embedded processing modules and an artificial intelligence based adaptive communication controller to adapt to the current network conditions including node dynamics, signal strength, traffic load, link quality and remaining energy. The controller dynamically adjusts the transmission intervals of halo packets for effective neighbourhood detection and route maintenance based on the analysed parameters. This adaptive mechanism decreases the routing overhead, packet collisions, communication delays and unnecessary energy consumption associated with fixed halo packet systems. This innovation enhances the routing stability, packet delivery ratio, throughput and communication reliability in dynamic and infrastructure-less environments. The proposed system is applicable for disaster management, military surveillance, smart agriculture, industrial monitoring, autonomous transport and cooperative robotic communication network.
