Abstract: ABSTRACT [0011] A privacy-preserving smart surveillance system is disclosed that executes real-time face detection and threat analysis entirely on edge hardware. Live video streams are captured and processed locally using adaptive computer-vision kernels that identify human faces and compare them against an encrypted local database of authorized personnel. Context-aware logic activates alerts only when unknown individuals appear during verified periods of authorized-user absence. Timestamped snapshot notifications are generated on the device and delivered without ever transmitting raw biometric video. Deployed on low-cost platforms such as single-board computers, the pure-edge architecture removes cloud dependency, suppresses false alarms caused by lighting changes or non-human motion, and supplies scalable, privacy-preserving security suitable for homes, campuses, offices, and small-scale public installations.
