MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641073766 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on June 14, 2026, for Adaptive Context-Aware Multi-Sensor Apparatus For Structural Dampness Risk Assessment And Early Leakage Detection.
Inventors include Padma Lakshmi G; Sundheep Kumar A P; and Akash K.
The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an adaptive context-aware multi-sensor apparatus and method for structural dampness risk assessment and concealed leakage detection in building environments. The invention utilizes a plurality of sensing elements including moisture, humidity, temperature, rainfall, and leakage sensing elements operatively associated with an edge-processing controller. The controller performs sensor normalization, weighted multi-parameter fusion, environmental compensation, temporal analytical processing, and adaptive dampness score computation for classification of condensation, seepage, rainfall-driven wetting, chronic dampness, and active leakage conditions. The invention provides graded risk alerts, predictive maintenance capability, reduced false alarms, and low-power deployment suitable for residential, commercial, industrial, and critical infrastructure environments.
