MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611110408 A) filed by Chandigarh University on September 15, 2026, for Active Multi-Stimulus Phonon-Assisted Infrared Spectroscopy System For Environmental Monitoring.

Inventors include Priyansh Sharma; and Manikanika.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: A reagent-free active multi-stimulus infrared spectroscopy system for environmental monitoring includes an FTIR spectroscopy unit (110), an active interrogation chamber (120), a thermal micro-pulse module (130), a humidity modulation module (140), an optical-path micro-modulation module (150), a phonon injection module (160), and a control and processing unit (170). The chamber receives an environmental gas or vapour while controlled thermal, humidity, optical-path and mechanical stimuli are applied. Infrared spectra are synchronously acquired with the stimulus cycles and processed to obtain differential and phase-resolved response components, including temperature, humidity, optical-path and phonon responses. The response components are combined into a multi-dimensional stimulus-response vector for chemical identification, relative concentration trends and physical-state discrimination. The system uses reversible physical perturbations without chemical reagents or consumables and can be implemented as a standalone or modular add-on FTIR arrangement for field monitoring.
