MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521086931 A) filed by Pandit Deendayal Energy University on September 12, 2025, for Acid Selective Peroxide Based Oxidation Of Cyclohexane Using Mesoporous Metal Oxide Catalysts.
Inventors include Jaimin Pandya; Bhalala Paras Girirajbhai; and Dr. Ashish P. Unnarkat.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: The titled invention discloses the synthesis of mesoporous Co3O4, Fe2O3, and CoFe2O4 using a nano-casting (hard templating) method with SBA-15 as a template. The synthesis involves the impregnation of metal nitrate precursors into the SBA 15, followed by controlled calcination and selective template removal. A re- impregnation step is employed to enhance crystallinity and structural stability. The synthesized metal oxides exhibit high surface areas, well-defined pore structures, and superior thermal stability. Nitrogen adsorption-desorption studies confirm the presence of mesoporosity, with BET high surface areas for catalyst. The materials demonstrate excellent catalytic activity for organic oxidation over cyclohexane. The environmentally friendly and scalable synthesis method offers a cost-effective alternative while maintaining high material performance compared to conventional industrial processes. Figure -1
