MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611099286 A) filed by Noida International University on August 17, 2026, for Accessible Smart Dose Reminder Medicine Strip.
Inventors include Raju Singh; Nitin Kumar; and Sameer Rastogi.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to pharmaceutical packaging and provides a smart dose reminder medicine strip. Multiple medication cavities are arranged according to a predefined medication schedule and associated with visual adherence indicators. Tactile markers assist visually impaired patients in locating or distinguishing respective cavities. The cavities may be grouped into colour-coded dosage zones corresponding to different medication timings and include ergonomic easy-open structures for elderly or arthritis patients. After medication removal, deformation of a cavity remains visible and provides physical confirmation that the corresponding dose has been accessed. The strip is manufactured using moisture-resistant medical-grade polymer and aluminium laminate material. An optional QR code or NFC element permits integration with a medication-monitoring system. The strip is applicable to pharmaceutical packaging, hospitals, pharmacies, care facilities, home healthcare, and medication-adherence programmes.
