Abstract: Bio-based gel polymer electrolytes have a distinct advantage over synthetic polymer alternatives due ,to their enhanced performance, sustainability, and environmental friendliness. Through the resolution of important problems such as mechanical stability, ionic conductivity, and environmental impact, bio-based GPEs provide an affordable, biodegradable, and high-performing alternative for energy storage devices. This makes them especially appealing in light of the growing need for environmentally friendly innovation and sustainable technology in sectors like batteries and other energy storage devices. They are a viable substitute for the upcoming generation of energy storage technologies because of their capacity to strike a balance between improved mechanical and electrochemical performance and environmental advantages.
