Abstract: [Problem] To improve, for an absorbent body having a highly absorbent polymer, fitting when being worn while maintaining thinness thereof. [Solution] This absorbent body has a longitudinal direction, a width direction, and a thickness direction that are orthogonal to each other, and comprises: a base material sheet; and a highly absorbent polymer laminated on the base material sheet. The absorbent body has a high basis weight region in which the basis weight of the highly absorbent polymer is higher than that in the surroundings. The high basis weight region is disposed such that points having the maximum thickness in the thickness direction are intermittently positioned in the longitudinal direction and in the width direction. The maximum thickness is within 3 mm. The distance between adjacent points having the maximum thickness is five times or less of the maximum thickness.
