MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621079918 A) filed by Chetan Ashok Chimate on June 29, 2026, for Aaryam Pneulock Bladderless Wedgecone Expansion Shaft System..

Inventor includes Chetan Ashok Chimate.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an expansion shaft assembly system for gripping and releasing reel cores during winding and unwinding operations in paper and packaging industries. The assembly comprises a shaft body extending along a longitudinal axis, at least one radially displaceable gripping element, at least one cooperating tapered interaction element, a longitudinal transmission member, and an actuation mechanism configured to impart axial movement to the transmission member. Axial displacement of the transmission member is mechanically converted into controlled radial displacement of the gripping element through a wedging interaction between the gripping element and the tapered interaction element, thereby selectively expanding or contracting the effective outer diameter of the shaft to engage or release an internal surface of a reel core. The actuation mechanism may be pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, or any equivalent linear motion generating arrangement. The expansion mechanism operates without inflatable rubber bladders or elastic expansion members, thereby reducing leakage-related failures and improving operational reliability. The invention provides uniform gripping force, reduced maintenance requirements, and suitability for automated high-speed winding and unwinding applications.
