Abstract: A winch assembly (100) is disclosed. The winch assembly (100) includes a body frame (101), a spindle (200), and at least one nut (410, 420). The body frame (101) is defined with a plurality of brackets (110, 120) that are configured to be coupled to a structure. The spindle (200) is supported between the plurality of brackets (110, 120). The spindle (200) is defined with a first end (210) and a second end (220). The second end (220) extends longitudinally through the plurality of brackets (110, 120). The at least one nut (410, 420) is adapted to positively lock the second end (220) extending longitudinally through the plurality of brackets (110, 120). The winch assembly (100) eliminates surface-to-surface coupling between the spindle (200) and the brackets (110, 120) reducing stress concentration and failure risk. FIG. 2 is a representative figure.
