Abstract: The invention relates to a welding machine (2) for processing a metal workpiece (36) by means of laser welding. The welding machine (2) comprises a housing (4) comprising a bottom (6) provided with an opening (8) that is in communication with an exterior of the housing. The welding machine (2) further comprises a laser device (32) arranged inside of the housing (4) and adapted for pointing a laser beam through the opening (8). The welding machine (2) further comprises a support structure (34) operatively connected to the housing (4) for arranging the welding machine (2) in an operational position in abutment on top of the metal workpiece so that the opening (8) in the housing faces a top surface of the metal workpiece, wherein an area of the top surface is exposed for laser welding by means of the laser device (32) through the opening (8).
