MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641081364 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal on July 01, 2026, for A Wearable Neurological Rehabilitation Device And A Method For Controlling The Device Thereof.

Inventors include Dr. Ahmed, Mohammed Sameer; Vineet; Dr. Bs, Chandan; Dr. Deshpande, Tanay; Dr. Prasad, Navneet; and Dr. Rudra, Bhawana.

The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method (500) for controlling a wearable neurological rehabilitation device (114). The method (500) comprises acquiring input data associated with a subject, the input data corresponding to multi-modal gait data acquired from plurality of sensing elements (210). The method (500) comprises deriving feature data from the multi-modal gait data, the feature data being indicative of gait characteristics including at least one of temporal movement parameters, spatial movement parameters, or neuromuscular activity parameters. The method (500) comprises determining predictive data based on the feature data, the predictive data corresponding to at least one of a neurological pre-movement readiness signal associated with motor-planning activity or a risk parameter associated with gait instability. The method (500) comprises generating, a sub-sensory stochastic resonance stimulation signal corresponding to a rehabilitation parameter based on the predictive data and driving a stimulation interface to apply the signal for modulating proprioceptive pathways associated with locomotion.
