Abstract: A WEARABLE EXOSUIT FOR WRIST MOVEMENT ASSISTANCE The present disclosure relates to a wearable actuation apparatus. The wearable actuation apparatus includes a wearable assembly configured for wear on the wrist. The wearable actuation apparatus includes an actuator assembly mounted on the wearable assembly, the actuator assembly comprising a rigid housing containing internal teeth. The wearable actuation apparatus includes a mechanical ratchet tensioner with a rotatable ratchet insert and flexible cantilever arms configured to engage the internal teeth via outward radial deflection, thereby establishing a unidirectional rotational constraint. The rotatable ratchet insert is configured to establish pre-tension via a unidirectional rotational constraint. The flexible cantilever arms are configured to disengage from the internal teeth when an inward radial force is applied, thereby releasing the pre-tension. The mechanical ratchet tensioner maintains cable tension during actuation while allowing cable slack during donning and doffing, without requiring active electronic tension control.
